Manchester United optimistic of signing Gareth Bale

Manchester United are reportedly optimistic of landing Gareth Bale next summer - but there is a catch.
Manchester evening news reports that Jose Mourinho and Ed Woodward have been excitedly monitoring developments at Real Madrid, with club president Florentino Perez said to be ready to move on from Bale next summer as he plots the club's next superstar signing.
Mourinho admitted in the summer he would chase Bale if he became available, only for the Reds manager to declare it game over when Zinedine Zidane started the forward against United in the Super Cup.

United now believe they are in a better position to finally get their man, but the report goes on to suggest that Real Madrid would demand David de Gea in return if United were to make a bid.
