Tragidy: doctor drowns in Eastern Region


As reported no one can tell how he ended in the stream with his car ,The victim, who is  identified as Dr Enock Ofosu Boakye, was found in the stream in the early hours of Monday, according to Daily Graphic reports.

ASP Ackah said the body and the Toyota Corolla, with registration number GE 9954-14, were retrieved from the stream with support from personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service at Kpong and some members of the Okwenya community.

The Akuse District Commander of the Police, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Francis Ackah, said around 4:30 a.m. Monday, the police received a distress call from a community member from Okwenya in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region that someone had been found dead in his car in the Okwe stream.
He said the police, after arriving at the scene noticed the traffic indicator lights of the car in the stream.
The ignition key was however found in the pockets of the deceased, he said.
He believed the deceased might have removed the ignition key when he fell into the stream with the car.

Meanwhile, the body had been deposited at the Akuse Government Hospital for an autopsy.
