Finally Justice Served !! Juvenile who defiled 4-year-old girl arrested

Police have arrested the young man who allegedly defiled a four-year-old girl at Assin Adadientem in the Central Region who was initially let to walk free.
The Director of Police Public Affairs, DSP Sheila Kesse Abayie Buckman said: “The suspect is currently in police custody and police have also received the medical report on the examination of the victim. Investigation is still ongoing.”

The police had not picked up the suspect early on even though he had been charged with defilement because the father of the victim, who first reported the matter, did not come back to the station to lead the police to effect the arrest.
The mother of the victim, Monica Nyarko had said that she realised what had happened to her daughter when she was bathing her upon her return, but the girl was not willing to as she was in severe pain.
The 4-year-old later told her mother that one Kwabena had inserted his manhood in her in a toilet facility, and had warned her not to speak about it else she would be killed.
The mother said a chief in the area has refused to seek justice for her, as the chief argued that the community gods say the suspect is innocent.
Ms Nyarko said that her daughter is in pain and this is really affecting her health.
Many have since condemned the act and have demanded justice for the little girl.
In an interview with Accra-based Joy FM, the Director of Police Public Affairs said the rights of both victim and suspect will be protected in pursuing the case.

“Let me state emphatically that Police will follow due process in handling the case, including the protection of the right of the victim and any right of the suspect as the law requires. And so the public should allow due process to be followed and not be hasty in drawing conclusion,” she said.
Meanwhile, the family of the victim has been relocated from the village.
