Lebanese businessman shot dead after leaving bank

Another Hollywood style robbery has occurred in Tema Industrial Area Wednesday morning. The robbery incident led to the death of a Lebanese man. According to reports by Joy FM, the Lebanese man was shot dead shortly after he went to withdraw cash from Zenith Bank.The eyewitness narrated that the deceased's car was blocked by the armed gang who then shot him and bolted with an amount believed to be 200,000 cedis. The deceased is believed to work with Delta Agro, a soap
manufacturing company.On Tuesday, February 27, 2018, gunmen robbed automobile company, Royal Motors, in broad day light. They stole the company's cash and run off with the CCTV recording.It followed the arrest of nine suspected robbers in connection to raids at several forex bureaux at Spintex.The latest robbery incidents have led to the growing fear and insecurity in the country despite assurances by the police.
Government has also assured of maximum security protection following heightened fears of insecurity among residents in the Greater Accra region.According to Minister of State in charge of National Security, Bryan Acheampong, government will deploy some military personnel to help the police fight armed robbers in the capital.
