What Man United players must do to remain at the club next season - Mourinho

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly sent a warning message to united players ahead of next season .

He told the Red Devils players before the end of the season to either back him or leave. The Portuguese born manager failed to clinch a title in his second season at Old Trafford after losing the FA Cup title to Chelsea at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday, May 19. However, the former Real Madrid manager was said to be unhappy with his players with their erratic performances all through the 2017-18 season. Towards the end of last season, United boss blasted some of his players for their disappointing display against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Mourinho, after the Red Devils 1-0 defeat to the Blues last weekend, told the squad they must conform to his style if they must remain at the club. The former Inter Milan manager also surprised some Old Trafford directors by making only a brief appearance at the club’s post-match reception.

Mourinho blamed his star striker Romelu Lukaku after the FA Cup defeat, saying he didn’t do well enough to represent the club in their last game of the season. Meanwhile, the United chief has revealed he is planning to overhaul his team this summer and is already rejigging his backroom staff after the departure of No 2 Rui Faria.
