Atletico Madrid Unveils Thomas Lemar(Photos)

Atletico Madrid have officially unveiled Thomas Lemar after official confirmation of his £52m transfer from AS Monaco.

The versatile Midfielder and 2018 World Cup winner was presented by his new club on Monday in the auditorium of Atletico's Wanda Metropolitano home.

Lemar agreed to join Atletico back in June and arrived in Madrid to seal his transfer after cutting short his post-World Cup holiday.

'I'm very happy to be here. I really want to meet all my new team-mates. I've met a few, but I want to meet them all,' Lemar said.

'I also really want to meet the fans at the Wanda Metropolitano.'

'(France team-mates) Antoine (Griezmann) and Lucas (Hernandez) have told me lots about the club. I'm very happy with the decision I made.

'I know this team demands hard work and I'll give it my all for the team. If I need to run more, I'll do it without a problem.'

The 22-year-old featured once during France's remarkable World Cup tournament in Russia.

He has been handed the No 11 shirt at Atletico previously worn by Argentine forward Angel Correa, who will inherit the No 10 vacated by Yannick Carrasco following the latter's move to Chinese outfit Dalian Yifang in February.

Also, AS Monaco thanked Lemar for his three years of service on social media with a tweet that read:

'Best wishes to Thomas on his new adventure in Spain with Atletico! Thanks for three incredible seasons, Thomas.'
