Manchester United Forward Elanga subjected to Racially Abuse Online
Manchester United starlet Anthony Elanga has received sickening racist abuse online after his penalty miss during the FA Cup fourth round defeat against Middlesbrough on Friday night.
Unable to be separated after 120 minutes, after huge misses from fernendes and a huge spot kick by cr7 the fourth round tie had to be settled from 12 yards beneath the lights at Old Trafford - and it was Elanga who unfortunately missed for United as they crashed out.
Middlesbrough booked their place in the fifth round with a 8-7 win on spot-kicks.
Jadon Sancho and Matt Crooks scored either side of half-time - but there was controversy over that equaliser for the Championship side as a handball incident went undetected during the build-up.
A spokesperson for Meta, the company which owns popular social media platforms Facebook and Instagram, said it has already removed a number of comments on Elanga's Instagram page.
Amid growing calls for social media companies to do more in such instances, the Meta investigation is ongoing.
