Indian police raid party, capture 10 Nigerian nationals including 5 women for purportedly having pot and alcohol
Ten Nigerian nationals, including five ladies, were captured for having marijuana and enormous amount of alcohol in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida, police authorities said on Monday, July 11.
Over 300 gm of pot, 217 cans and containers of beer and 17 bottles of whiskey were recuperated from a condo in Sector Omicron 1, a police representative said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Vishal Pandey said, the foreigners were held after an information was gotten about them celebrating in the loft on Sunday night, July 10, where intoxicating substances like drugs and alcohol was additionally being utilized.
"During inspection, the police seized 310 gm of cannabis from the flat. Those arrested have admitted to consuming it. Also, 217 cans and bottles of beer, 17 bottles of whiskey (including those meant for sale in Delhi) were seized,” Pandey said.
Another senior official let PTI know that the captured foreigners neglected to provide legitimate documents for their visit in India.
The condo belonged to a Greater Noida local who had leased it out to the blamed, the official added.
An FIR has been held up at the Dadri police headquarters under arrangements of the Excise Act, the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Foreigners Act, the police said.
Further probe in the case is in progress, Pandey said, adding that every one of the 10 have been produced in a nearby court on Monday evening, July 11.
