PDP Reps back Senate caucus on impeachment of Buhari
Members from the House of Representatives elected on the foundation of the Peoples Democratic Party have backed their associates in the Senate over the call for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari over widespread insecuirty in the country.
Recall that the senators allowed Buhari a month and a half to resolve insecurity issue in the nation or face impeachment proceedings.
Speaking at a joint gathering on Thursday July 28, PDP legislators said the state of the nation was shocking and therefore given a six to eight weeks ultimatum to the President to settle the various challenges of the nation or risk being impeached.
Minority Leader in the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, gave the notice on Thursday, after a gathering of the National Assembly PDP Caucus at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
The gathering was led by Senate Minority Leader, Philip Aduda (PDP, FCT), with more than 20 legislators in attendance.
The legislators held a closed-door meeting, after which Mr Elumelu informed journalists on the goal reached.
He expressed that members from the House will likewise introduce a formal impeachment notice against the president on the off chance that the general insecurity in the nation isn't tended to.
