Following his suspension, Lionel Messi is back in training with Paris Saint-Germain.

Following his ban for traveling to Saudi Arabia without permission, Lionel Messi is back in training with Paris Saint-Germain.

With the caption, "Leo Messi back in training this Monday morning," the Ligue 1 team posted a picture of the World Cup winner wearing his workout gear.

The Argentine superstar had received a two-week suspension from Paris Saint-Germain for traveling to Saudi Arabia without permission.

The World Cup champion from Argentina had scheduled the trip as part of his official duties as an ambassador for the country's tourist industry.

Monday was meant to be a day off for PSG players, but after their 3-1 loss to Lorient on Sunday, manager Christophe Galtier brought the group in for practice. Messi, though, was already traveling to Saudi Arabia and was unable to turn back

Messi apologized for skipping the training session in a social media message to the players and the club on Friday.

In the 39-second footage posted to his Instagram account, Messi said, "I thought we were going to have a day off after the game as always."

'I had this trip organised and I couldn't cancel it. I had already cancelled it before. I apologise to my team-mates and I'm waiting for what the club wants to do with me.'

In August 2021, the seven-time winner of the Ballon d'Or transferred from Barcelona to PSG since the Catalan club was having serious financial issues. Barcelona wants to re-sign him this summer, but it's not certain whether they can come to terms with Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, who are prepared to make him a staggering offer of more than £350 million annually.
