Seven kidnapped passengers in Edo were rescued by police


 

Seven abducted victims have been rescued by Edo State Police Command agents in the state's Owan East Local Government Area.






Recall that on Tuesday of last week, gunmen abducted passengers on a Toyota Sienna bus along the Afuze-Iheivbe Auchi Road. 




 




However, after four days of bush combing, the police and a local vigilante were able to rescue another seven people on Saturday, increasing the total to nine. Two of the passengers were recovered last week.






 




The victims were saved on Saturday by a combined security team, according to Chidi Nwabuzor, the state police command's spokeswoman, who confirmed the news on Monday, May 8.




 




"Seven victims, four males and three females, were rescued by the police on Saturday during bush combing by the security team. All the kidnapped victims have been rescued,” he said.


he PPRO said only nine persons were abducted by kidnappers as against the 12 reported in the media.
