Manchester United takeover: Sheikh Jassim willing to make former Man United star an ambassador

David Beckham will be offered an ambassadorial role by Sheikh Jassim if his prospective bid to buy Manchester United is successful.

The former Manchester United winger David Beckham has been in the news recently as the Netflix documentary about his career has given fans an insight into his career.

Beckham, 48, founded Inter Miami back in 2018 after exercising his option to buy the American club and the MLS side have since signed Lionel Messi from PSG and he has proven to be an instant success, unsurprisingly.

Now, the former United winger has been linked with potentially being involved at the Old Trafford club if the Qatar bid to buy the club comes out on top.

Jassim's plan

According to talkSport, Jassim is keen on recruiting the 48-year-old as an ambassador for the club if his bid for 100% of the club is successful.

Beckham spoke on Saturday about the takeover and made a rather interesting comment about the takeover situation.

He said: "We want stability and I believe I know the right people to take Manchester United back to the top."

You wonder if Beckham knows more about the situation than he is letting on and including the former winger, who has done wonders for Inter Miami, at United under Erik ten Hag could be a genius move from the Qatari billionaire.

Qatari waiting game

As always when there's an exciting update about the ownership situation, there is the massive caveat that the Glazer family are still sitting on their hands and are unwilling to make a decision about the club's future, just yet.

The latest on the takeover situation is, according to the Manchester Evening News, that the Qatari's offer for full control of the club remains on the table amid the delay.

This is despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the other bidder for the club, willing to offer a minority stake before eventually assuming full control to break the deadlock in the negotiations, according to The Guardian.

If Beckham's involvement in the Qatari offer is true then you would expect the United fanbase to be fully behind Jassim's offer.
