Selena Gomez explained why she disabled Instagram comments just days before Hailey Bieber's pregnancy news

No need to "Kill Em with Kindness" - Selena Gomez's haters can't even comment on her social media uploads.

The actress explained her decision to limit her Instagram comments to only the accounts she follows on the "Today" show just days before her ex Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber revealed their pregnancy news.

"I think I've created boundaries to help me," Gomez, who is the most-followed woman on the platform, said in the May 2 interview

"Obviously people fussed about it," she continued. "They fuss about everything."

However, the "Wizards of Waverly Place" alum, 31, told viewers that she felt "empowered" by telling trolls, "This is just for me."

With this parameter in place, Gomez's comments section has been free of negativity after Justin and Hailey's announcement Thursday.

Not only did the couple debut the model's baby bump, but they shared footage from their Hawaii vow renewal as well.

The duo originally wed in September 2018 at a New York City courthouse, tying the knot again in front of family and friends the following year in a South Carolina ceremony.

Justin, 30, began dating Hailey, 27, in 2015 during a break from his on-again, off-again romance with Gomez.

He and Gomez had been an item since 2009, with Hailey stepping in after the former couple called it quits for good in May 2018.

Justin proposed to Hailey just two months later while vacationing in the Bahamas.

Since then, Hailey and Gomez have been repeatedly faced with feud rumors - despite posing for a smiling snap together at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in October 2022.

Hailey

the previous month that she was "so far moved on from any type" of drama with her husband's ex.

"I don't want to stir anything up or bring anything up," she said in September 2022. "[Fans] wish he ended up with someone else and that's fine. You can wish that all you want, but that's just not the case.

"If we have moved on, why can't you?" she asked at the time.

When fans speculated the following year that Hailey and Kylie Jenner were trolling Gomez online, the "Only Murders in the Building" star called the rumors "unnecessary."

She subsequently took an Instagram break, calling herself "too old" for "silly" drama.

Gomez is now dating Benny Blanco and made headlines for posting a photo holding hands with the record producer, 36, Thursday.
