UEFA Announces the Winner of Player of the Champions League Award for the 23/24 Season

Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior has been named the UEFA Champions League Player of the Season for 2023-24, as confirmed by UEFA on Monday.

The 23-year-old Brazilian forward netted six goals in 10 matches, including a decisive goal in the final against Borussia Dortmund on June 1, held in London. Additionally, he provided five assists throughout the tournament.

Vinicius played a crucial role in Real Madrid's 2-0 victory over Dortmund at Wembley Stadium, helping the team secure their 15th Champions League title, a new record.

This was his second Champions League win with Real Madrid, the first being in 2022 when he scored the winning goal against Liverpool in Saint-Denis.

Vinicius's stellar season was complemented by his teammate, Jude Bellingham, who was honored as the Champions League Young Player of the Season.

Bellingham, who joined Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in 2023, scored four goals and made five assists in 11 appearances.

The 20-year-old English midfielder has been instrumental for Real Madrid this season, also contributing 19 goals in La Liga, aiding in their 2024 domestic league triumph.

Bellingham, an England international since 2020, is set to represent his country in the upcoming EURO 2024 tournament in Germany, starting on June 14.
