Man United Prepare €20M Bid For Copa America Star

Manchester United are reportedly plotting a move for Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios as an alternative to Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Manuel Ugarte should Casemiro leave the club this summer.

Although no formal offer has been made for the Colombia international, who made an impression during the Copa America. According to Goal Brasil as reported by Football Transfers, United have made an inquiry and that AC Milan are also keeping an eye on the 24-year-old.

The Red Devils are prepared to shell out about €20 million for the player, but Palmeiras are reluctant to let him go easily.

"What's certain is that the club will not negotiate with Rios in this window," an unnamed source claimed. "It's normal for interested parties to appear, but the club's position on the matter is clear."

Palmeiras head coach Abel Ferreira pointed out to the press: "We've already made a lot of money from sales. Now we need to focus on their alternatives on the field."

In fact, the Brazilian outfit have already sold Luis Guilherme to West Ham and Willian Estevao to Chelsea this summer. Additionally, a deal was made a year ago for Endrick to leave for Real Madrid.

Rios established himself as an essential member for Colombia with his impressive performances for the runners-up squad at the Copa America.

He is a defensively centered player who, like Ugarte, has a box-to-box profile that is not all that different. But compared to Casemiro, he is not as well-rounded as a player in possession.
