Iranian foreign minister briefs French counterpart on peace negotiations

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot that "progress was made on many issues" during negotiations with the U.S. over the weekend, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry. But, in a phone call with his French counterpart, Araghchi blamed U.S. delegates for preventing an agreement "due to excessive demands and constantly changing positions."

Barrot reiterated France's support for ending the conflict diplomatically and said he hoped continued talks would result in an agreement. According to the Iranian ministry, both Araghchi and Barrot "stressed the continuation" of ongoing discussion.
