Popular American streamer Kai Cenat has revealed that he made extensive efforts to help Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe obtain a U.S. visa to attend the 2026 edition of Streamer University, but the application was ultimately unsuccessful.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of Streamer University's Class of 2026, Kai addressed Carter Efe's absence and told viewers that he had worked closely with the Nigerian creator throughout the visa process.
"I was trying to get Carter Efe his visa. I was working with him, and it wasn't able to happen," Kai Cenat said during the livestream.
Carter Efe Misses Major International Opportunity
Carter Efe had been selected to participate in Streamer University, Kai Cenat's creator development initiative that brings together digital creators from around the world for networking, collaboration, and training.
His inability to obtain a U.S. visa meant he missed the opportunity to attend one of the year's biggest creator events, disappointing both fans and fellow content creators.
Kai Reportedly Provided Supporting Documents
According to Carter Efe, Kai Cenat went beyond simply offering encouragement. During a separate livestream, the Nigerian content creator said Kai sent him an official invitation and support letter to strengthen his visa application.
Despite those efforts, the visa was still not approved.
Carter expressed his disappointment over the outcome, saying the rejection was particularly painful given the significance of the opportunity.
Fans React Online
News of Carter Efe's visa setback quickly spread across social media, with many fans praising Kai Cenat for trying to help and sympathizing with Carter over the missed opportunity.
Some users described the situation as a reminder of the visa challenges many African creators face when invited to international events, while others encouraged Carter to remain optimistic about future opportunities.
Streamer University Continues
Streamer University has become one of Kai Cenat's flagship initiatives, bringing together emerging and established creators for workshops, collaborations, and mentorship.
Although Carter Efe could not attend this year's edition, many supporters hope he will have another opportunity to participate if future visa applications are successful.
