Obi-Kwankwaso ticket has best chance of winning in 2027

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, has said that a joint presidential ticket between Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso would have the strongest chance of defeating the ruling party in Nigeria's 2027 presidential election.

According to Lawal:

He believes an Obi–Kwankwaso ticket has about a 70% chance of winning if both politicians contest together rather than separately.

He argued that combining Obi's nationwide support with Kwankwaso's strong political base in Kano and northern Nigeria would create a formidable electoral alliance.

On his own assessment, he rated:

Obi–Kwankwaso ticket: 70% chance

President Bola Tinubu: 50% chance

Atiku Abubakar: 0% chance under the current political configuration.
