Manchester United Closing In on £53m Danny Rose deal

Manchester United are pursuing a deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s left-back Danny Rose as Jose Mourinho plots to upgrade both full-backs this summer, reports claim.

While the Portuguese is satisfied by the performances of both Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young this season, he’s conscious that the pair are well into their 30s and that both are not specialist defenders.

With Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian both falling out of favour, Young has stepped up admirably in the left-back role, while captain Valencia has been one of the most consistent performers this season,

with both set to turn 33 during the summer months,Mourinho is keen to add fresh blood to those positions
