Pogba Replacement ? - Manchester United step up interest in Fred

Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred ahead of the summer transfer window.

Fred has made 152 appearances for Shakhtar since joining the club back in 2013 but the 25-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months.

While Manchester City were initially keen on landing Fred in January, the Premier League champions instead chose to spend their money on Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao.

According to Manchester Evening News, United are now ready to pounce and are determined to get a deal over the line for Fred.
