Davido Reinvited For Questioning Over Friends Death - Police Reports

Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has found himself in trouble over the death his friend Tagbo Umeke. According to reports in the Nigerian media, the Lagos Police Command is investigating the 'If' singer after ruling Tagbo's death as a possible murder. Tagbo's body was found in a Toyota Camry in front of the Lagos Island General Hospital after a night out with Davido and some other friends last week Tuesday. Initial information suggested he might have died because of excessive drinking with Davido keeping silent on the matter. It was the deceased's girlfriend, Caroline Danjuma who brought to light the fact that he died in the company of Davido and also went ahead to accuse him of being responsible for the death. Davido, however, repeatedly denied any involvement in the incident but later investigations have revealed that the deceased's body was actually transported to the hospital by Davido's personal driverand two others upon his orders. An autopsy report also revealed suffocation as the cause of Tagbo's death and the police have invited Davido. Based on this, the police have re-invited the hitmaker to assist in investigations.

"He has been re-invited for questioning because he lied that he only knew of Tagbo's demise while he was at DNA nightclub, in Victoria Island, a claim that has been found to be untrue “The CCTV footage at the hospital picked the escort vehicle and the entire activity. The vehicle was recovered from Davido’s residence at 7, Awoshika Street, Lekki Phase 1. This completely debunks Davido’s claim that he did not know how the deceased got to the General Hospital. The interim autopsy report stated that the victim died of Asphyxia", Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi is reported to have said at press conference. This the third associate of Davido to have died under mysterious circumstances in the last two weeks as two others Olugbemi Abiodun and Chime Amechinawere also found dead inside a car marked within the period.
