Presbyterian church elder dies in Guest House after 'chopping' church member


The New Juaben Municipal Police Command has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 60-year-old Treasurer of the Koforidua Ascension Presbyterian Church in the Eastern Region at a Guest House in Nkrukan.

According to Starrfmonline.com, the deceased, identified as Mr.William Osae-Ansah, was alleged to have checked into the Guest House around 9:25am with a 40-year-old woman believed to be a member of the Church. Workers of the Guest House known as “Su Su Sei Me Guest House” received the shock of their lives when after some minutes of their checking in, the woman rushed to the reception to report that her partner was unresponsive.

the two were engaged in hot intimacy explaining why the church’s Treasurer was found dead in his nakedness when the workers rushed to the room. Staff of the Guest House quickly informed the Police who in turn dispatched a crime scene investigation team to the Guest House. After the woman realized that the elder was still unresponsive, she took to her heels but reports have it that she was later picked up by the Police to assist with their investigations.

The body of the late church elder has since been conveyed to the Eastern Regional Hospital, Koforidua for preservation pending a postmortem examination. According to the report, the deceased church elder had with him an unspecified amount of money believed to belong to the Church. The money was retrieved by the Police for safekeeping
