Photographs from mass burial service for 21 youngsters who passed on under strange circumstances at South African bar

 


A mass memorial service is in progress for the 21 teens, 12 young ladies and nine boys, who passed on under unexplained conditions at a bar in South Africa.


The results of the toxicology report are not yet available, yet it is broadly accepted that they kicked the bucket subsequent to breathing in harmful gas or fumes while celebrating in the Enyobeni Tavern in Scenery Park in the early hours on June 26, 2022.


The service is holding at a stadium in Scenery Park township in the coaster city of East London, Eastern Cape Province.


The coffins were lined up inside an immense marquee, with families expected to bury their kids not long from now.





As indicated by Eastern Cape Safety MEC Weziwe Tikana Gxothiwe, two of the casualties have proactively been buried, two more will be buried after Wednesday's mass memorial service sevices while 17 others will be buried between Friday and Sunday.


The mood is sombre inside the marquee. Emotions are running high among loved ones of the victims, well-wishers, and grievers battling to find a sense of peace with the deficiency of youthful lives.


President Cyril Ramaphosa, National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa Nqakula, Police Minister Bheki Cele, Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane and Buffalo City Metro mayor Xola Pakati, are among dignitaries at the memorial service.
