R.Kelly removed from suicide watch at Brooklyn jail
Vocalist R.Kelly has been taken out from suicide watch after a go face-off with federal authorities in the United States.
The artist filed the lawsuit against the jail he was kept in the wake of being sentenced for sex violations. He guaranteed that he was being subjected to "cruel and unusual punishment" which disregards his eighth Amendment rights after he was placed on suicide watch at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center.
He demanded that he wasn't even thinking of killing himself and told jail officers that Kelly likewise guaranteed he was set in these cruel circumstances because he's a superstar.
Federal authorities at first filed a motion contradicting the suit, saying they would clinically survey Kelly for the term of his suicide watch.
Anyway today July 5, Metropolitan Detention Center Warden Heriberto H. Tellez who was named as one of the litigants in the claim, advised TMZ that he has taken a choice to eliminate Kelly from suicide watch following a "clinical assessment." No further subtleties on the evaluation were given.
Kelly was condemned to 30 years in jail last Wednesday following his conviction last year on government racketeering and sex trafficking charges. Producers had requested that the appointed authority sentence Kelly to over 25 years in a correctional facility, while his defense lawyers requested as long as 10 years.
