2 projectiles fired toward Israel from Lebanon, army says; no one injured
Sirens sounded in several northern Israeli towns on Saturday afternoon as two more projectiles were fired from Lebanon, according to the Israeli army.
One projectile was intercepted while another fell in open territory, according to Israel. No one was injured. It was not immediately clear if the one projectile landed in Israeli territory.
"This incident constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire understandings by the Hezbollah terrorist organization," the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement.
Both sides have accused the other of violating a tenuous ceasefire in place since April 16.
Israel said it also intercepted a "suspicious aerial target" in southern Lebanon earlier in the day Saturday. That projectile did not cross into Israeli territory, Israel said.
